How to check for track maintenance, or other disruptions?

Modified on Wed, 07 Jun 2023 at 10:22 AM

Train tracks require maintenance from time to time, and schedules are subject to occasional changes for this reason. Therefore, we encourage you to check the most up-to-date information on the evening before your next travel day. That way, you'll be ahead of any surprises, and can adjust your plans if necessary.

The information on the train company's website is the most up to date. We always recommend you to check their information for the latest departure times and route suggestions. The Interrail Team has compiled a useful overview of websites, which you can check on this webpage. You will find a lot of information, organized per country, about any disruptions of service there.

If you do find your trip disrupted due to schedule changes, be sure to speak to the staff of the operating train company. They will be your first point of contact and are responsible for arranging alternative means of transport, should you be delayed.
